Teresa Lynch is President of the Association of Catholic Nurses of England and Wales and represents the United Kingdom on the Ethics Committee of the International Catholic Committee of Nurses and Medico Social Assistants. With a particular interest in nursing ethics and palliative care, she holds an MSc in Medical Anthropology. Teresa Lynch is the link nurse to the Catholic Medical Association (UK) and has collaborated with them in developing a joint nursing and medical protocol on the care of the dying. She has spoken in the House of Lords on the ethical and clinical reasons for opposing the legalisation of assisted suicide. Her book, The Good Samaritan Nurse in a Secular Age, offers an accessible exploration of nursing ethics for both health professionals and the wider public.
